Visiting Bishop's School, Nelson

We had a taste of what it would be like to be a child in Victorian times when we visited the Bishop's School. We had to line up in silence, wait until we were told to sit down, read all together from the blackboard, do an arithmetic test and do copperplate handwriting.

A visit to the Suter Art Gallery

We had an enjoyable visit to the Suter Art Gallery in Nelson. We looked at paintings from an exhibition called"Sunstroke". All the paintings had bright, hot summer colours. Esther showed us how to look closely at the paintings and choose one colour that really stood out to our eyes. Then we looked At  the two to three colours that were surrounding that colour to see why those colours made the first colour look so bright. After that we took those three colours and created our own picture.
